Recording status, sales & buyers

An animal's status tells you — and your team — where it sits in your operation: active in the herd, listed in a sale, or sold. When an animal sells, you can record the sale event, the price and the buyer, all from its record.

Open the animal's record (select its NAME or M NUMBER on the Animals page), then find Status in the details block.

Steps

1. On the animal's record, select the pencil beside its Status.
2. In the Change Status window, choose a Status — Inactive, Active, In Sale or Sold.
3. If you choose In Sale, pick the Sales Event the animal is going into. This is required.
4. If you choose Sold, fill in:
   • Sales Event — the sale it sold at, or leave it empty for a private sale off the farm.
   • Price ($) — what it sold for. This is required.
   • Purchaser — search for the buyer by client name or company.
5. Select Save to apply the change.

Change Status — record a sale with its price and buyer.

Once an animal is In Sale or Sold, the Sale panel on its record shows the sale event and lot — and, once sold, the price and purchaser. The purchaser links straight through to that client, and the sale is added to their purchase history.

A sale recorded with no sales event shows in the panel as Private sale.

Undoing a sale

If a sale was recorded by mistake, undo it from the animal's record:

1. In the Sale panel, find the sale marked Sold — a sale event, or Private sale.
2. Select Undo sale, then Undo sale again to confirm.

The price, buyer and date are cleared. A lot in a sale goes back to unsold in that sale; a private sale is removed. You can then change the animal's status as usual, for example back to Active.

Adding to a sale from the sale itself

Filter your list by status

Back on the Animals page, the status tabs across the top — All, Active, In sale, Sold and Inactive — let you see just the animals at each stage at a glance.
